Oxygen regulator manufacture’s recommend that you do preventative maintenance at least once a year, and a complete overhaul every two years, o-rings and cleaning. The FDA/NIOSH have put out a notices recently about the CGA gaskets being used incorrectly, and also suggesting using a regulator with a brass body. They also suggest following manufactures recommendation for maintenance.   Independent Medical sales and service can set up an exchange program specifically for your Fire Department, where loaner regulators will be sent for your Fire Department to use, while your regulators are sent in for recommended maintenance. You just tell us how many regulators you have, and we will set up a schedule to send you loaner regulators to use while your regulators receive maintenance at no extra charge.

The Regulator Exchange program:   $30.00 Flat rate for maintenance, parts extra with customer approval.   Independent Medical will send one loaner regulator for each regulator you have, to use while you send your regulator in for annual maintenance.   This includes:   ·       Visual inspection and cleaning of oxygen regulator. (Looking for damaged or missing parts) ·       Leak test (External and Internal) ·       Pressure regulation flow test. (The testing of the regulator for proper pressure regulation) ·       Constant flow test. (The testing of liter flow settings) ·       Gauge test. (Checking for calibration) ·       CGA washer seal (Brass / Viton) ·       Final physical inspection and repair. (When the approved work and repairs are completed) ·        Documentation. (Maintenance record)   Upon completion of maintenance your regulators will be sent back with documentation, and easy to use box and label to return all loaner regulators back to Independent Medical.
